Anouncement : Hindustani tabla, Carnatic Vocal & Devaranaama Classes Starting from November 2026.
Bhajan Classes

At Swara Hindustani Classical Music School, our Bhajan Classes are designed to introduce students to the rich tradition of Indian devotional music in a structured, engaging, and nurturing environment. Bhajans are not only a form of devotional expression but also an important part of India’s musical and cultural heritage, bringing together melody, rhythm, language, devotion, and meaningful lyrics.
The classes focus on helping students learn bhajans with proper pronunciation, clear diction, melody, rhythm, pitch, and expressive singing. Students are guided to understand the meaning and भाव (bhava) of the compositions, enabling them to sing with greater awareness and expression rather than simply memorising the lyrics and tune.
Following the spirit of the Guru–Shishya Parampara, our classes encourage disciplined learning while keeping the experience enjoyable and accessible. Students gradually develop their voice culture, sense of rhythm, pitch awareness, listening skills, and confidence in singing. Attention is also given to maintaining the traditional character of devotional compositions while helping students understand the musical elements behind them.
The classes are conducted in small batches, allowing the teacher to provide personal attention and guide each student according to their learning pace. With two classes per week, students have regular opportunities to practise, revise, and progressively build their repertoire.
The Bhajan Classes are suitable for children, teenagers, and adults of all age groups, including beginners who wish to start their musical journey as well as those who already have some experience in singing.
Through these classes, we aim to create a space where students can learn, sing, understand, and experience the beauty of Indian devotional music while developing a deeper appreciation for our musical and cultural traditions.
Learn with devotion. Sing with understanding. Grow through music.
